Applied Behavioral Analyst

Mental Health/Disability Services (MH/DS) of the East Central Region
is seeking a candidate to fulfill the role of Applied Behavioral Analyst.  Successful candidates will meet the following criteria:

Applied Behavioral Analyst Job Description:
Applied Behavioral Analysts support and assess people with disabilities and assist with implementing plans to improve behavior for long-term stability. Applied Behavioral Analysts work in a variety of settings, including people’s homes or work settings. Working with a supervisor, parents, and other staff, behavior analysts conduct assessments and set social and developmental goals for their clients. People who find the most satisfaction in this job have a deep desire to help those with disabilities.

Applied Behavioral Analyst Duties and Responsibilities:
While an Applied Behavior Analyst’s day-to-day duties and responsibilities are determined by company expectations, there are many core tasks associated with the role, which include:

  • Travel to and consult with regional MH/DS providers to:
    • Assess client behavior
    • Conduct behavioral assessments
    • Develop individualized behavior plans
  • Consult with families and provider agency staff
  • Maintain client notes
  • Engage in on-going professional development

Minimum Qualification Requirements:
Applicants must meet at least one of the following minimum requirements to qualify for a position in this job classification:

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a doctorate degree in psychology, behavior analysis, or counseling.
  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a master's degree in psychology, behavior analysis, or counseling, and experience equal to two years of full-time clinical work in the provision of counseling and therapy in an institutional or community mental health, intellectual disability, long-term care, or correctional program.
  • Possession of a current license to practice psychology from the Iowa Board of Psychology.
  • Have or be willing to pursue certification as Board Certified Behavioral Analyst (BCBA).

MH/DS of the East Central Region is comprised of nine counties in eastern Iowa which include Benton, Bremer, Buchanan, Delaware, Dubuque, Iowa, Jones, Johnson and Linn.   Office location will be determined based on the successful candidate’s preference and county availability.  Online meetings and travel throughout the nine counties will be required.

Human Resources Manager

A permanent full time Human Resources Manager position for Bremer County, IA is currently available for hire.  This position will be directly responsible for the overall administration, coordination and evaluation of the human resource function.  Under general direction of the County Board of Supervisors, administers, plans, develops and coordinates the County’s Human Resources polices, programs, activities and procedures for ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, state and local laws and/or regulations.  The Human Resource Manager advises and assists Department Heads, Elected Officials and employees with day-to-day human resources tasks to include recruitment and selection and wage and salary administration to assure compliance with county policy and applicable federal, state and local laws.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree with coursework in human resources, or related field and 3 to 5 years’ human resource generalist or related work experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Office Clerk

The Bremer County Treasurer's Office seeks a qualified applicant for an Office Clerk. Applicant must possess excellent customer relation skills and be an effective communicator; must be able to maintain composure and interact with the public under stressful and interruptive situations. Applicant must be committed to providing quality customer service by working and communicating with customers to meet their needs in a polite, courteous, and cooperative manner. Must be detail oriented with the ability to organize, prioritize, multi-task and work independently.

Applicant must be able to learn and retain the numerous laws, regulations, and special procedures involved in processing property taxes, assessments and taxation, motor vehicle titles, registrations, and various official documents in an accurate and timely manner. Have the ability to collect the appropriate fees; process confidential information with tact and discretion; and acquire a working knowledge of driver’s license issuance.

Applicant must have a high school diploma or equivalent; proficiency in Windows based applications, including Microsoft Word and Excel; data entry; and operating office equipment, with advanced work experience or education in accounting including accounts receivable and general ledger. Must have experience with cash handling.

Some heavy lifting is required.

Part Time – On Call Assistant to Landfill Manager

Bremer County is accepting applications for the position of Landfill Assistant.  This is a part time – on call position, with hours seasonally varying according to demand, from four to twenty or more per week.  Will work independently, or as part of a crew, operating but not limited to a hook truck, dump truck, wheel loader, farm tractor with three point mower and perform routine maintenance on the equipment, fences, buildings and grounds.  Also will include some scale house duties.

Applicant must have a high school diploma or equivalent; class B Commercial Driver’s License with air brakes, at least two years experience involving the operation of heavy equipment, ability to perform under adverse weather conditions and maintain an effective working relationship with fellow employees and the public.

Residential Specialists I & II
The Bremer County Community Based Services Department is seeking applicants for the positions of Residential Specialist I & II.  The Residential Specialist I & II provides support to individuals with intellectual disabilities, brain injuries, and mental illnesses within the community. Duties include, but are not limited to: providing transportation, supports to cook, clean, complete laundry, provide activity, medication delivery, monitor safety and health practices, money management, completion of necessary forms and reports, and performing additional tasks as assigned by the Program Supervisor.
