Compliance Officer

Community Based Services of Bremer County is on the look-out for a new Compliance Officer.  This person will need to be a team player as well as a self-starter.    Microsoft Office skills are a must and communicating data collection in a usable manner is a skill that will be frequently used.  We are looking for a person who can support the Direct Support Professionals who work with the members receiving services.  This position at times will be required to be on-call as a Direct Support Professional working in the homes and community to support our members.  Being on-call may involve working with the members but mostly consists of assisting other staff through difficult situations.

  1. 4-year college degree in human service or related field, OR
  2. High school diploma and at least 3 years’ experience in a human service or quality assurance role, OR
  3. A combination of education and directly related work experience equaling 3 years or more
  4. Microsoft Office skills a must with experience creating complex spread sheets, pivot tables and databases, macros a plus.

Jailer Opening

The Bremer County Sheriff’s Office is accepting applications for the position of 2nd/3rd shift female Jailer and male Jailer. All applications must meet the minimum hiring standards set by the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy and are available on our website that is listed below. Pay range is $18.91-$24.72 per hour. Requirements for employment:
No person shall be recruited, selected or appointed to serve as a Jail Administrator or Jailer unless the person:

  1. Is 18 years of age or older.
  2. Is able to read and write in English.
  3. Is of good moral character as determined by a thorough background investigation including a fingerprint search conducted of local, state, and national fingerprint files.
  4. Is not by reason of conscience or belief opposed to the use of force, when appropriate or necessary to fulfill the person’s duties.
  5. Has the ability to perform the essential elements of the position as defined in department job specifications.
  6. Is an appropriate candidate for employment as demonstrated by qualified psychological screening.
